This Week in Ed 6.30.20: 🌻 THANK YOU! | CPS Student Activism | CPS ARA Meetings | July 4 March

THANK YOU!!! We exceeded our Grow With Us fundraising goals- our goal was $10k, we raised it to $12K then we raised $13.8K- AND we met a match of $5K from an anonymous parent!

We appreciate everyone who supported this fundraising campaign and we hope you enjoyed finding out more about RYH issues and meeting our board & staff. More than half of our annual funding comes from supporters like you. #RYHGrow2020 might be over but you can still donate here or become a monthly donor here. THANK YOU!!!

CPS ARA meetings start tonight

CPS is hosting four meetings to discuss the Annual Regional Analysis (ARA). The first meeting is tonight. You can find the ARA here. We recommend you find your school in the ARA document and check for accuracy. You can find all the meetings plus registration links here. Here’s RYH’s take on the ARA from October 2018: ARA report proposes a questionable process built on flawed set of premises.

Yesterday, Chi Student Pandemic Response (CSPR) and the Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights wrote a letter to CEO Jackson regarding the CPS remote learning grading policy violating students’ civil rights. Check out this Twitter thread to read the full letter and hear what the students have to say. If you know an impacted student or a student who wants to share their story, please have them reach out to CSPR:
