PARCC: updated factsheet

PARCC testing begins in CPS on March 5th. We have updated materials on our website explaining what’s the future prospects of PARCC testing are in Illinois and how to refuse this year’s PARCC testing.  If you have more questions or are running into roadblocks to refusal at your child’s school, email us or call 413-3OPTOUT.


ISBE special ed investigation

The State Board of Education is investigating CPS around their special education policies and practices. They want to hear from parents, teachers and staff and will be holding three upcoming community input sessions. This is an opportunity to meet with ISBE for five minutes to share any issues your child has had around service delays, denials, transportation denials, etc.  Email us if you want more info at or show up at one of these three events:



Aramark Contract up this June! Take this survey from Healthy Schools Campaign

CPS’ food service contract with Aramark ends in June. Healthy Schools Campaign is surveying parents about their schools’ lunch and breakfast programs. More info and survey in English and Spanish here.
