Summer 2020: COVID-19 Resources

Thank you for visiting our Summer 2020: COVID-19 Resources page. We are sharing the latest on school reopening guidelines, FAQ docs, and other relevant links for parents. (Updated July 19, 7:30PM)

UPDATE 8.4: On Friday, July 31, After a week of an "extensive public engagement process" but without releasing a final #cpsreopening plan, CPS sent a "form" to all CPS parents via text and/or email and asked you to "choose" their hybrid plan or their remote learning plan for the new school year. You can read more in this Sun-Times article. Parents are supposed to "choose" by Fri, Aug 7. At the writing of this update, parents have still not seen a final reopening plan yet that was supposed to be written after an "extensive public engagement period."

There are further ISBE updates below under "Illinois".

UPDATE 7.23: ISBE has released more guidance: Fall 2020 Learning Recommendations

We will try to update this once a week or when appropriate. Please send additional or suggested content to Jennie: jennie@ilraiseyourhand.org. [Our original COVID-19 Resource page is here. It was relevant from March - mid June 2020.]

Non CPS Districts & Private Schools in Illinois

  • Check your school’s website as well as your district’s website regularly. Look for a link to their own resources & updates on COVID-19 response & information.
  • Check Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for accounts for your school and/or your district. Sometimes your district’s Superintendent may have an account (especially on Twitter) and/or your principal may have an account (especially on Twitter.) Follow and like all of these accounts. Social media may be a quicker way for school staff and district staff to provide updates and relevant information.
  • All of the ISBE information applies to your school/district.
