CPS will spend nearly $1B on capital projects as presented in their FY 2019 Capital Plan. CPS will hold simultaneous public hearings for the capital budget from 6 to 8 pm, Thursday, July 19, at the following locations (register to speak: 5 - 6 pm):
Truman College, 1145 W Wilson Ave
Malcolm X College, 1900 W Jackson Blvd
Kennedy King College, U Building, 740 W 63rd St.
WBEZ did an analysis of this capital plan and found that new buildings and additions are on the north side or in the center of the city. In addition:

We intend to speak at each of the above hearings on Thursday. We hope to see you at one!
Helpful Hint: If you are wondering if your school is part of the capital budget or part of the new announcement of additional case managers or social workers, check your email! Schools are sending out letters with this information. You should also check your school's social media accounts. And, of course, you could check the FY 2019 Capital Plan.
If you can’t make it Thursday night but have something to say about the capital plan: The unelected CPS BOE will vote to approve both the CPS FY 2019 Operating and Capital Budgets at their monthly meeting on Wednesday, July 25, 10:30am, CPS, 42 W. Madison. Online sign ups to speak at or attend this BOE meeting begin on Monday, July 23, 10:30am sharp, www.cpsboe.org.
