Run for Local School Council! Opportunities to attend 2 LSC events this month to get prepared!

 

Raise Your Hand is participating in two important LSC events this month. Choose one that works for your schedule and show up to find out how you can make a difference at your school. LSCs can be powerful, and your parent voice can make a difference at your school!

 

Saturday, February 10

2018 Citywide LSC Candidate Summit

National Teachers Academy, 55 W Cermak

9:30am- 1:30pm: Doors open 9:30am; Program runs 9:30am-1:30pm; Lunch served 1:30pm

Special ed investigation in the works

The ISBE has given the advocate groups 3 weeks to collect parent testimony on CPS special education practices and policies. If you have a child who has had issues around getting special education services in the last two years, email us at info@ilraiseyourhand.org or fill out this form.

 

In addition, ISBE just announced they will allow for parent input on special ed issues on Friday 2/16 at the Thompson Center.

Each person will get 5 minutes to speak with the inquiry team. The investigation is around service delays, denials transportation issues and summer school denials.
